The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an approach that allows educators to create inclusive environment. It brings learning equity to a diverse classroom by acknowledging and accommodating each learner’s individual needs and strengths. The UDL incorporates a set of principles, which offers each student an equal opportunity to learn. This set is based on the idea that each person has a unique individual learning style.
Teachers can incorporate Universal Design for Learning into their STEAM curricula. We suggest the lesson plan, where the UDL principles are assimilated in Basic inquiry learning scenario using its five major phases: Orientation, Conceptualisation, Investigation, Conclusion, Discussion.
Each above-mentioned phase includes a set of recommendations of the UDL principles for achieving the best inclusive results.
