The socioeconomic approach employs a traditional business SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis template, which is adapted the socio-economic context by primary and secondary students. The adapted SWOT template and analysis concentrates on stakeholder internal aspects (Strengths + Weaknesses) and stakeholder interaction (Opportunities + Threats), ), which can be identified by interviews, questionnaires or webquests.
Watch the video “SWOT template video”, which explains this adapted SWOT approach. These are five socioeconomic inclusive environmental Inquiry Learning Spaces developed in a framework of the inSTEAM project:
- Water Consumption: Swimming pools and the tourism industry (Primary school)
- Clean Water: How many jeans do you need? (Primary school)
- Greenhouse gases: What’s your diet’s footprint (Primary and Secondary schools)
- Global Water Crisis: Desalination in your country-region (Secondary school)
- Renewable Energy Activists (Primary and Secondary schools)
